Shawn serves as Special Projects Assistant to the President and CEO. He also fulfills multiple roles as ambassador within the community, facilitator of employee seminars and as a member of the Operations Team.

Shawn began his career at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in 1996 working in the resort's reservations department. He also served in the accounting department in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles, and as Chief Clerk. In 1999, Shawn was named Coordinator and Administrator to the Director of Marketing. In this position he coordinated special events and ticket sales, as well as facilitated the 2001 and 2005 NC Governor's Conference on Travel and Tourism. Shawn served on the resort's 2002 Culture Committee and the Sammons Culture Team.

An Asheville native, Shawn is a graduate of Western Carolina University. He was recently appointed to the Total Product Development Fund Committee for Buncombe County, which oversees the allocation of room tax and projects designated to promote room night stays.
